Major County Jail Release Paths
The Major County Jail is a county facility operated by the Major County Sheriff's Office. A person can leave after bond, recognizance, dismissal, a court release, time served, completion of a county sentence, or another qualifying event. Those outcomes may return the person to the community, subject to the case and any supervision that remains.
Leaving this roster can also mean a transfer. Possible receiving custodians include ODOC, another county jail, a tribal or federal authority, ICE, a hospital, or another agency. Transfer ends the Major County Jail leg but does not prove freedom from all custody. Ask for the destination or receiving-agency field and follow that system before describing the event.

Confirm Major County Jail Release

Major County Jail Release Record

Major County Jail Record Hours
The Records Division public counter is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. That window is narrower than the Sheriff's general administrative schedule of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Dispatch remains available around the clock, but dispatch availability does not mean historical records staff are available at night.
Call 580-227-4471 before making a records trip. The Records Division lists paper copies at $0.50 per page, certified pages at $1 each, and DVD or thumb drive at $1 per page as stated on its page. Some reports can be emailed, while some may require a subpoena. Ask for a cost estimate and legal basis for any withheld portion.
The Sheriff's Records Division page controls the current counter hours, request route, and fee schedule. Oklahoma law requires prompt and reasonable access, but no fixed completion time is posted for Major County Jail release requests.
Major County Jail Release List Limits
No official 24-hour or 72-hour Major County Jail release feed was found as of July 31, 2026. The Sheriff's home page shows recent bookings, not recent releases. The current roster advertises no discharge reason, release time, post-release retention period, archive control, download, or guaranteed update schedule. Current booking photographs also do not establish a later release.
For a fixed period, ask Records for existing discharge entries between exact timestamps. Request the date, time, manner, and receiving agency. If the agency does not keep an aggregate report, the Open Records Act does not require it to create a new custom list. Does no roster result mean the person was released? No. It can mean release, transfer, an update delay, a name mismatch, or custody elsewhere.

Major County Jail Transfer Records
A transfer requires a second search. If ODOC receives the person, use the state Offender Lookup and read institutional, supervision, and historical fields together. If another county receives the person, use that sheriff's current roster and records office. A tribal destination belongs with the named tribal authority. Federal pretrial custody may involve USMS and the federal court rather than BOP's sentenced-prison database.
An ICE detainer asks for notice of impending release and may request a hold of up to 48 hours so ICE can assume custody. “Released from Major County Jail to ICE” is therefore a change of custodian. Use the Sheriff's destination entry, then the ICE locator within its applicable window. Do not infer immigration status from a name or roster disappearance.
Major County has no verified ODOC prison, federal prison, dedicated ICE detention center, or separately advertised municipal jail within the county. These systems are external verification routes. They should not be described as additional Major County facilities.
Major County Jail Release Logistics

Those details must not be guessed. Fairview is rural, but the available research does not support a promise about fixed-route transit, rideshare coverage, or any jail-provided ride.
Call the jail extension for lawful pickup instructions and current property procedures. Do not wait at an unverified secure entrance. A family member should also avoid relying on a projected court or bond time as the physical exit time, since jail staff must complete processing and check other holds.

Verify Major County Jail Community Release
Use two independent records before concluding that someone returned to the community. Start with the custodian's discharge entry. Then add the court order or ODCR event that explains the change, a VINE custody event, or the receiving agency's record. Two displays fed by the same vendor are not independent confirmation.
Resolve identity first. Compare middle name, date of birth or age, booking number, case number, physical description, photograph date, and jurisdiction. If one identifier conflicts, do not combine records. Ask the Sheriff or Court Clerk to resolve the match.
Keep each timestamp's meaning intact. The court signature records judicial action. Bond acceptance records satisfaction of a condition. The jail discharge time records administrative departure from Major County custody. VINE records a transmitted event. When those times differ, report them separately instead of forcing them into one release time.
