Terms Entered in Search Tools
A name, county, or other term entered in a search box is transmitted to the outside provider that operates that tool. Major County Released Inmates does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems.
Email and Contact Messages
If you email or send a contact message, we retain the message long enough to respond and handle the request. Its contents are not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Technical Data Collected Automatically
Like most websites, the service can receive basic technical information when a page loads. That information may include:
- The visitor’s internet protocol address.
- The browser name and version.
- The device category and operating system.
- Pages viewed and approximate time spent on them.
- The referring website, when supplied.
- The date and time of the request.

Some advertising providers may measure activity across more than one website to select ads. That activity occurs within the provider’s systems, not a Major County government database and not this site’s own search log.

We do not sell personal information. Data may still be handled by a small set of service providers or authorities for the purposes described here:
- Search partners that process a submitted query.
- Analytics providers that measure use.
- Advertising networks that deliver ads.
- Law enforcement or government bodies acting under a valid legal order.

Standard safeguards are used to reduce the risk of unauthorized access or loss. No internet-connected service can promise complete security, and this site cannot guarantee that a breach will never occur.
Visitors Under Eighteen
This service is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted information may contact us and request deletion.
